A PERSHORE shop has been given an award for its fund-raising work.

Pershore Rotary Club presented its rotary service recognition award to the town’s branch of supermarket chain Co-op on Racecourse Road.

Judith Gath, president, handed the award to Kevin Pritchard, manager of the shop.

She said: “This is in recognition of the much appreciated support the Co-op has given to our charitable endeavours and for the support you give more generally to charities within our local community.”

Mr Pritchard then gave a talk to members about the shop’s charitable work and its Green Schools Revolution project, which enables primary school children to visit farms and learn where food comes from.

He said: “I am really pleased to have received this award for myself and the store and I am looking forward to liaising further with the club in aiding the community.”
