A WORCESTERSHIRE charity received more than 1000 unique visitors to its website yesterday after an episode of Downton Abbey was aired in America.

During the episode, viewers saw Lady Sybil Crawley tragically die of eclampsia soon after giving birth to a healthy baby girl leaving her husband Tom Branson and family devastated.

A spokesperson for Evesham-based charity Action on Pre-eclampsia said the number of hits to their website increased 10 or 12 fold following the repeat.

Your Worcester News previously reported that the charity was inundated with calls and messages from women who have lost babies to the condition when the episode was screened in the UK in October.

Earlier this week, the story once again became one of the most read and shared stories on our website and Google results for “Downton Abbey pre-eclampsia” showed the link to our story was listed fourth after three American websites.
