WEST Midlands Ambulance Service’s reorganisation plans are moving forward after the announcement the first of the county’s stations has gone on sale.

The service’s Make Ready programme will see the creation of two 24/7 fleet maintenance hubs where dedicated teams of Ambulance Fleet Assistants prepare, service and maintain the fleet of ambulances.

The hubs are being created through the refurbishment of two traditional ambulance stations, one of which is the Barnsley Hall Drive station in Lickey End.

As part of the plans, Evesham’s ambulance station has now been put on sale, while the rest of the county’s stations are due to be sold and replaced by a new network of community ambulance stations.
