THREE talented chefs from a Droitwich hotel have cooked up a storm to win prestigious awards.

Nigel Cook, Alex Hodgson and John Goodby, who all work at St Andrew’s Town Hotel, St Andrew’s Drive, showed off their culinary skills at the NEC, Birmingham, on Wednesday, January 23.

Nigel Cook took part in the Alaska Seafood Challenge and won a merit award for his salmon dish.

John Goodby and Alex Hodgson created joint dishes featuring roast lamb, scallops and prawn mousse in a flavour pairing challenge and also won a merit award.

Mr Goodby then tasted individual success when cooking pork fillet and monkfish in the Gram Master Class and a dish of seared duck breast, beetroot fondant and carrot puree, deep fried duck egg yolk and soured cherry jus in the final of the Young Chef Challenge 2013.

Mr Goodby’s duck dish will now be featured on the hotel’s menu throughout February.
