A BURGLARY in Droitwich Spa has been linked to a series of others in the county.

Detectives are connecting four break-ins, where thieves stole a large quantity of jewellery, that took place throughout January.

However, the financial worth was far outweighed by the sentimental value for two of the householders, who have released images of items in the hope they can be recovered.

At some time between Thursday, January 24 and Sunday, January 27, someone broke into a house in Clydesdale Close, Droitwich, and stole a large amount of jewellery, much of it of high sentimental value.

This incident is being linked to similar brake-ins in Hastings Road, Malvern, between 4pm and 6pm on Sunday, January 13 and at a house in Fruitlands, Malvern, between 7am and 7pm on Thursday, January 24.

A home in Worcester’s Columbia Drive was also targeted between Thursday, January 24 and Saturday, January 26, which was entered via the rear kitchen door and some jewellery was stolen.

Detective Constable Pete Ryland of Worcester CID, who is investigating the incidents, said: "It is always worse when a victim of burglary has something stolen that is precious to them for sentimental reasons.

"We are releasing images of pieces of jewellery stolen from two of the burglaries, from Fruitlands in Malvern and Clydesdale Close in Droitwich, in the hope someone may recognise some of the items.

"If you have seen these items for sale or have been offered them in suspicious circumstances, please get in touch and help us reunite these pieces with their owners.”

PC Ryland can be contacted via the non-emergency police number 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
