A FIRE has torn through a home in Malvern, completely destroying the living room and causing extensive damage to other parts of the property.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called to a house in Oak Crescent just before 7pm yesterday evening.
Two pumps from Malvern and one from Worcester attended and brought a “severe” fire in the ground floor living room under control.
A male at the property was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation and the Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service also attended to offer help to the property’s occupants.
The blaze completely destroyed the living room and caused extensive damage to the ground floor and severe smoke damage throughout the rest of the property.
Group commander Grant Wills said: “Crews arrived at the address to find a well-developed fire in the ground floor living room and flames coming from the window.
“The fire was quickly extinguished but it caused severe damage throughout the property.”
