Jumper day supports Age UK
12:40pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in News
STAFF at Worcestershire County Council dug out their old woolly jumpers for a day to raise cash for Age UK.
Workers also aimed to raise awareness about fuel poverty in the county.
Pullovers of all kinds were seen across the council's offices, ranging from retro 70s sweaters to dodgy Christmas jumpers.
Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for the environment, Councillor Anthony Blagg, said: "We have raised an amazing £375 so far and expect this to rise as more donations come in from across council sites. Age UK will be able to use these funds towards initiatives alleviating fuel poverty and to ensure that older people are able to manage their fuel bills and have a good quality of life."
