Charity wants to help more people
9:10am Sunday 10th February 2013 in News
A CHARITY that supports community groups voluntary organisations wants more people to come forward.
Community First, a Worcestershire-based charity, has been providing professional help since April 2012 thanks to funding from Worcestershire County Council’s Changing Futures scheme.
Nick Comley, development officer at Community First, said: “We know from our work last year that charities, village halls and other groups find the help we can provide under this scheme really useful.
“Village halls got support to introduce modern governing documents, hire agreements and to make good plans for the future. We helped volunteer groups to set up committees, establish themselves as charities, change the way they work, set up small business operations or put on new local services.
“Now the new year is here we want more groups and charities to contact us to see if we can help them too. The application process is really simple but the effects can be dramatic.”
