RESIDENTS who live on the Westlands estate in Droitwich Spa are being invited to a community meeting.

The drop-in event is being held at Westlands First School, Farmers Way, on Monday, February 11.

The main aim of the meeting is to raise awareness of the new benefit changes coming into force at the beginning of April and to promote other services being provided in the area.

Services including housing needs, health services, energy advice and crime and social issues will be amongst the issues discussed.

There will be two sessions during the day. Parents with children at Westlands First School are invited to attend from 2 - 3.15pm, with other residents asked to go from 4 - 6.30pm.

Councillor Lynne Duffy, who is chairman of the forum, said “We decided that this event was really needed given the changes to the benefits coming in April. It is also a good chance to speak to the residents on the estate and get their opinions of the services that are provided for them and what else they would like to see.”
