ONE lucky woman is busily planning her wedding for less, thanks to a competition in your Worcester News.

Emily Dexter, of Lower Wick, Worcester, took home a prize worth £2,500 towards her dream day after an entry was made on her behalf by her mother-in-law to be.

The prize has been provided by A-Z Wedding Services, a bridal shop in Stourport-on-Severn, established 22 years ago, which will aim to cater to Miss Dexter’s every wedding requirement.

Sarah Bowman, of A-Z Wedding Services, said she was over-the-moon for Emily.

“We were looking forward to there being a winner and getting to help them arrange everything.

“She is a lovely woman. As she did not enter herself she already had some of what we offered in the prize, so we have replaced it where possible. Instead of the wedding dress for example, she will now get the contribution towards the bridesmaids’ dresses.

“We are over-the-moon she won it and we are looking forward to working with the bridal party to make sure they have the best day possible and get everything they can out of the prize.”

As part of it Miss Dexter won a bridal gown and men’s suit hire from A-Z Wedding Services; mother of the bride/groom outfit courtesy of Wedding Pearls; a wedding car from Arrive Cars and photography from TIC Wedding Photography.

They could also have chair covers and sashes and a balloon bride and groom from Mobile Balloon Services; a chocolate fountain from Choc n Hog Catering and bridal hairstyling with Hair by Tina.

The couple are now all set to get married in December this year at Manor Hill House, near Droitwich.

Sarah Bevan, promotions manager at Worcester News, said: “We had a good response despite the competition being in the paper during the snowy weather. Readers collected the tokens and the winner was the first selected from the draw. When I called Emily to say she had won she was absolutely over-the-moon. She really couldn’t believe it.”
