Worcester MP apologises to David Cameron
12:04pm Monday 11th February 2013 in News By Tom Edwards
Worcester MP Robin Walker
ROBIN Walker said he is “glad to be wrong” after David Cameron secured an historic cut in the EU budget.
Worcester’s MP argued last month how parliament had shot itself in the foot by refusing to give the Prime Minister a mandate for a freeze.
But the surprise outcome of last week's Brussels summit has led to EU spending being slashed £29 billion over the next seven years.
The reduction is the first fall in spending in the EU’s 56-year history and amounts to three per cent of the annual spend.
Mr Walker said: “Like so many commentators I was gloomy in my predictions for this particular set of discussions.
“I apologise for ever doubting that the Prime Minister would be able to deliver.
“I was genuinely worried that by giving up the ability to argue for a freeze, we might be forced into a situation where no agreement could be reached and therefore the budgets would continue to rise by inflation every year - I am delighted to be proven wrong.”
He added: “I believe that Britain can and will get a better deal from Europe and this landmark announcement is only the beginning.”

Also there are many more areas of concern to the British electorate to be renegotiated before Cameron`s efforts can be deemed successful.
And before the "you can`t join a club and then change the rules" mob start up - it seems many rules WERE changed after we joined the club, but to our detriment.

Just think what we could do for the NHS, sick, pensioners, and schools with that sort of money, and it is OUR money, not theirs!
Still the greedy EU beggars want more!
The MEPs plan to vote in secret to "debate" Camerons negotiated budget. You can be sure its in secret as they plan to throw-out the budget, and the whole process will start all over again. And they call secret voting democracy?
Mr Walker, we have had enough of this foul, corrupt club that our parents signed up to under false pretences. A majority of voters now want the UK out and independent again. Why not start working towards getting us out of the EU while we still have some remnants of democracy left, rather than buttering-up "slippery" Cameron?

Appear EU-sceptic enough to appeal to his voters, but not actually do anything about it.

The fact that the Tories are 'celebrating' this, at national and local level, shows why they cannot be trusted on the EU.
And at a time when spending is being squeezed at home, we are entitled to ask why we are spending on the EU at all.
