WORCESTER Raiders made it a hat-trick of cup final appearances after a 2-1 win over the University of Worcester took them to the Worcester and District Football League’s Baylis Cup final.

Already through to the Worcestershire FA and Nursing Cup finals, a brace from Josh Homans secured their victory against the students for whom Paul Chatterley was on target. Raiders will play Arrow 2000 in the final.

In the Saturday League Division One, a double from James Styles and further strikes from Brad Morton and Pat Lane gave Newtown Sports a 4-2 win against The Red Lion.

In Division Two, there were hat-tricks for Pete Jeynes in Foregate’s 4-2 success at Leigh & Bransford Badgers and Jay Roberts as West Malvern 2012 crushed Sylla 6-1.

In the Sunday League, waterlogged pitches caused exactly half of the scheduled matches to be postponed.

In the games that were played, Upton Snodsbury consolidated second place in the Premier Division thanks to two goals from Ash Millard with Lewis Critcher and James Rogers also on target as they beat CMB Sports 4-2.

Former Worcester City striker Mark Owen notched a hat-trick for Martley Spurs who climbed off the foot of the table with a 3-2 victory over Coppertops. Just one match was played in Division One with Ashley Bloore bagging two goals for Kempsey who beat Goodrest Juniors 4-1.

Malvern Radar and Droitwich Spa Eagles were locked at 2-2 when their match at Victoria Park was abandoned after 53 minutes due to a waterlogged pich.

In Division Three there were two goals each for Andy Lancett of Malvern Victoria who won 3-2 at VBL Sports and Chris Mortimer in the University of Worcester’s 5-3 win at Whitehall Albion.

Shooting star of the day was Greg Lord, of Hylton Road Rovers, who netted five times as his side thrashed CSSC 10-1 in Division Four.

In other games, Powick Reserves hammered Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves 8-2 as Stuart Harvey and Sean Smith both hit hat-tricks and Dean Humphries a brace.

Nathan Jones cracked a treble and James Hughes a double as Cavalier Sports triumphed 7-2 at Hangover.

Blackpole Sports played their first match for eight weeks in Division Five and thumped Five Fathers 6-0, Kieron Bell scoring twice.
