A TRADITIONAL brass band will be engaging in a busy programme of events this year.

Worcester Concert Brass has a mixed group of more than 30 players, ranging from age 12 to 65, playing a wide range of music.

They perform easy listening music, embracing songs from the stage, themes from films and TV series, light classics as well as more traditional brass band music and their year begins in earnest with a concert at St James Church, Bishampton, near Evesham, on Saturday, March 9.

Other events include a Bands in the Park event in Worcester’s Cripplegate Park on Sunday, May 12; Defford Village Fete on Saturday, June 1; and Pershore Midsummer Brass on Saturday, July 6.

They will also appear at the Worcester Victorian Fayre on Saturday, December 7.

The band practises weekly at Nunnery Wood High School, Spetchley Road, on Tuesdays from 7.15pm to 9.30pm. For more information, go to worcesterconcertbrass.org.uk.
