DESPITE the blue skies and warmer temperatures across most of Worcestershire today, gritters are being prepped to go out with another overnight freeze expected.
Temperatures are expected to plummet to below freezing and drivers are being warned of a possibility of icy patches and frost forming on roads into tomorrow morning’s rush hour.
Worcestershire County Council’s gritting teams have already been out treating sections of primary routes and will be going out again from 7pm this evening.
Highways manager Jon Fraser said: “Although the weather has much improved, we're in for a cold night tonight so as always we're urging drivers to take care tonight and tomorrow morning.”
