YOUNG school goers who may need help planning their next step can get some advice at an event being run by Worcestershire County Council.

The Life Beyond School event will give young people with learning difficulties, learning disabilities and additional needs the opportunity to discover what their next move could be, from further education to daytime activities.

It will also give parents and carers a chance to meet providers and share experiences and provide information on benefits and housing needs.

There will be a variety of representatives from both local and national organisations covering all aspects of life for young people who are in, or coming up to this important transition in their life.

Jayne Hipkiss, early intervention family support worker, said: β€œIt is important for young people with additional needs to be able to find out what they can access and be involved in making decisions about what they want to do.

"The event will give them the opportunity to explore this in a safe environment with the support of people they can trust.”

The event will take place at Regency High School and Specialist Sports College in Worcester on Thursday, March 7 between 2pm and 6pm, at Kidderminster Youth House in Wyre Forest on Thursday, March 14 from 5pm to 7pm and on Thursday, March 21, beginning at 3pm until 6pm at Pitcheroak School in Redditch.
