THERE was quite a buzz at the Bishops Wood Centre, near Stourport, as visitors spent a day learning all about bees.

During a special ‘Introduction to Beekeeping’ course, participants learned all about their instincts and behaviour, their essential role in nature and how people can work in partnership with them in developing crops of honey and wax.

The course was one of several which have taken place at the centre in Crossway Green this month to help people learn and develop traditional skills.

Gill Frankling, manager of the 70-acre site, said: “We’re recognised nationally for our work in environmental and sustainability education, and are always looking for new ways to develop people’s understanding of traditional skills.” Call the centre on 01299 250513.
