Council urging residents to sign up to energy saving scheme
PEOPLE are being encouraged to sign up to a new scheme that could save them money on energy bills.
The scheme, which is offered by the company ichoosr, is a collective energy switching initiative and is open to people regardless of where they live.
Wychavon District Council is urging residents to look into joining.
Anyone can register their interest, provide their details, including their current gas and electricity supplier details, but they need to sign up by Tuesday, April 9. After this date, ichoosr will know how many people are interested in the scheme and hold a reverse auction.
Vic Allison, deputy managing director at Wychavon, said: “This scheme offers a great opportunity for our residents, their friends and family, wherever they live, to potentially make valuable savings on their energy bills. The power really rests with the people, as the more residents who sign up for the scheme, the more bargaining power ichoosr will have with the energy companies when it comes to agreeing a price for gas or electricity.”
A number of local authorities around the country have already promoted ichoosr schemes to their residents, and Wychavon has selected ichoosr as its preferred partner because of its track record in getting a good price for residents.
Anyone interested should go to wychavon.gov.uk/switch, email switch@wychavon.gov.uk or call 01386 565103. To read about ichoosr, visit ichoosr.com

.
This shoudl be clearly labeled "ADVERTISEMENT" as the company organising the auction get paid commission for bringing all the lovely new customers to the energy suppliers.

r.org - they say what their fee is and where it is going- the council are clearly unable to be honest in this department...

Residents and home owners do not need the council pointing out, or sponsoring schemes like this -they are quite capable of doing their own research and making up their own minds.
Stop wasting our money! Only do the things you are there to do please!
