Done by Sunrise will support Girls Aloud at the LG Arena in Birmingham tonight
LOCAL band Done by Sunrise will play the biggest gig of their music career when they support Girls Aloud at the LG Arena tomorrow night.
The indie-pop three-piece from St John’s in Worcester is comprised of Howland siblings, Loren, aged 20, Jodie, 17, and Scott, 22, who bring together a rich history of music, theatre and performance.
They will perform on the Forum Live stage at the Birmingham arena ahead of the girl group’s Ten reunion tour, which is likely to attract up to 10,000 fans.
Singer Loren said the gig will be the biggest they have ever done but the nerves will be replaced by excitement as soon as they take to the stage.
The band works with a record label in Kidderminster called MAS records, who have organised the gig to enable the trio expand their reach into the Midlands.
Loren said: “I’m really excited but really nervous. As soon as we get on stage it will be fine.
“We’ll be playing as people are walking in, so up to 10,000 people going through.
“There’s a seating area in front of the stage. Some people will sit down and watch and they will take the cards and leaflets and other people just walk through straight to their seats.
“Because of the nature of it, it’s a passing through area, so you get used to it. It’s just one of those things.
“Just to play at the venue is brilliant.
“We’re stuck in Worcester at the moment so the record label are helping us get outside the area and move outward into the Midlands.”
The band have already supported Westlife as part of their Greatest Hits tour at the LG Arena last May and will return to the venue to support One Direction when their Take Me Home tour comes to Birmingham.
The record company is also helping the trio record their debut single at Forge Recording Studio in Warwickshire under the guidance of producer Tom Gittins.
The single, which is set for release this year, will be available on iTunes and all major digital music retailers.
