Shoppers can donate unwanted clothes to help cancer charity

A clothing collection point has been set up at the St Andrew's Square store
STAFF at a Spa store are encouraging customers to help them support a cancer charity.
Workers from Droitwich’s Wilkinson store, St Andrew’s Square, have set up a clothes collection point in aid of the company’s chosen charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.
People will be able to donate unwanted items to the worthy cause until Tuesday, April 30.
The Bags of Support project, organised by Clothes Aid, aims to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support by recycling clothes from 102 Wilkinson stores.
The scheme is looking for good quality high street clothes, shoes, belts, accessories and household linen as donations. For every tonne of items collected at least £300 will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sarah Kerlew, store manager at Wilkinson in Droitwich, said: “We really hope our loyal customers can help us with this fundraiser, as we believe everyone must have at least one item of clothing they can recycle.
“Whether it’s a coat you don’t wear anymore or something the kids have grown out of, it can all be recycled for Macmillan Cancer Support, rather than ending up in landfill.”
