Gritters hit Worcestershire's roads
GRITTERS will hit main roads again today as sleet and snow showers sweep across the county.
Worcestershire County Council's fleet will be going out from 4.30pm this afternoon to treat highways as a precaution and remain on standby throughout the night.
Highways manager, Jon Fraser, said: "It's good news for Worcestershire that we've escaped the heavy snow experienced in other parts of the country.
"However we're still focusing on the safety of our residents and businesses in ensuring we continue to grit when needed and in standby mode we're ready to start up and head out again immediately the weather conditions demand it."
Residents can keep up-to-date with the latest gritting information through the council's Twitter account @worcscc, its website at worcestershire.gov.uk or by calling on 01905 765765.
