School celebrates Ofsted inspection success

TEACHERS and pupils at a Spa school are celebrating after a visit from Ofsted inspectors.
Westacre Middle School, Ombersley Way, Droitwich, has been judged to have an overall effectiveness of ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ leadership and management.
During a two day process at the end of February, the Ofsted inspection team found that teachers create a caring and calm environment in which all pupils are able to thrive. Children’s behaviour was judged to be good and they were observed to be polite, courteous and welcoming at all times. They have positive attitudes to learning and listen respectfully to teachers and to each other.
The main findings of the report identified that all groups of pupils make good progress. Inspectors were particularly impressed with the quality of guided reading sessions in school and judged these to be outstanding. They also confirmed that the quality of teaching had improved since the last inspection.
Headteacher Donna Evans said: “As a school we are delighted to secure this judgement as it is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of all staff. As always, we remain immensely proud of our children. This is an exciting time for Westacre and we look forward to the next stage of our journey.”
