MORE than 350 of Worcester’s great and good celebrated the official launch of the city’s newest venue.

House, owned by Riad Erraji, the husband of Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton, welcomed guests from local businesses and sports personalities as it opened its doors in CrownGate Shopping Centre on Thursday night.

The former Druckers Vienna Patisserie has undergone a huge transformation to become a restaurant, coffee and cocktail bar.

House’s al fresco dining area was a hit with guests as they enjoyed the early evening sunshine in CrownGate’s Chapel Walk, opposite Huntingdon Hall.

Worcester Warrior Jake Abbott said: “I love the outside area which is a real sun trap. It is great hub for both business associates and socialites to come and socialise.

“CrownGate is a great place with much potential. We’ve needed something like this a great place for me and the boys to come and relax after a match, I look forward to sampling the world beers on offer.”

Team mate Johnny Arr said: “Fantastic night, House is unique to Worcester and Worcester has definitely needed a bar like this. Great atmosphere, it’s buzzing.”

Speaking after the event, Mr Erraji said: “House is a premier Worcester venue for premier people.

“We have had a lot of local support, and tonight we formed relationships with the local community, its fantastic to see so many people here tonight and to welcome our neighbours.”

The venue also hosted a corporate event on Wednesday night.

In the run up to Ladies Day on June 1, House will welcome ladies for an exclusive champagne lunch on May 24 in association with Worcester Racecourse and House of Fraser.

During the event, ladies will enjoy a two-course lunch followed by racing tips, live entertainment and a preview of this season’s hottest race trends.
