A ‘MUMPRENEUR’ has set up her own business after struggling to juggle the work-life balance.

After being made redundant at the end of last year Emma Collins launched her own online business, Party Pickles, in just eight weeks.

Based in Stourport, Mrs Collins admits she had previously spent 15 years struggling to juggle a full-time job with being a mother-of-two, and so she decided to combine the two.

Combining her brand and marketing background as former head of sponsorship with npower with her love of special parties for kids, Mrs Collins developed Party Pickles – a party in a box.

The business has now also moved into a new shop based above Little Acorns in St John’s, Worcester.

She said: “When I was working full time, I always wanted to do a really special party for my kids but I just didn’t have the time to make anything and I could never find hand-made or bespoke party things online.

“So I decided to address this gap in the market and help other time-poor mums like myself.”

Offering hand-crafted, traditional party items, Party Pickles provides an entire party in a box – taking all the stress and headache out of theming and decorating children’s parties.

There are currently five different party themes to choose from, vintage tea party, vintage circus, pirate party, lavender fairy party and little man party.

Each box caters for eight or more children and includes hand-made bunting and table runners as well as a bespoke, themed cake stand, plates, cups, napkins and party favours.

In addition, there are also extra special touches to reflect each theme such as hand-made corsages for each child and a cupcake piñata in the Vintage Tea Party box and striped ties and moustache straws for each child in the Little Man Party box.
