COMMUNITY spirit was in full swing in Worcester when neighbours joined together for a bite to eat.

Worcester Community Trust hosted a big lunch at the Tolly Centre in partnership with Gemma Mundy, of Worcester Community Housing.

The national initiative aims to get as many people as possible across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours once a year in an act of community, friendship and fun.

Community worker Julie Sadler said: “It was a fantastic day with about 300 community members.

“Sharon Amos and Sarah Butterworth put on a fantastic buffet street party, a great day was had by all and the sun shone.

“During the day people were able to get information from other agencies, such as Neighbourhood Watch. I would also like to thank Tesco for their kind donations to the raffle.”
