THIEVES drove off in a Caterpillar loading shovel worth £10,000 from a Stourport company earlier this week.

Sometime between 5pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday the thieves took the yellow vehicle, which is similar to a tractor from Hope Readymix Concrete Ltd., Nelson Road, on the Sandy Lane Industrial Estate in Stourport.

After forcing their way into the yard, the thieves broke into an office to steal the ignition keys.

They then drove off from the site also taking a hard hat and yellow jacket.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: “We are appealing for any information which might help our inquiries, especially possible sightings of this vehicle or of any suspicious activity at or near the company premises overnight on Monday.”

Contact the police by calling 101 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
