A KIDDERMINSTER street remains cordoned off today after a woman was found seriously injured inside a house.

A  man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident yesterday.

The 25-year-old woman was found after officers were called to the scene just before 11.30pm. 

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, by ambulance and remains there in a critical condition.

Shortly after the woman was discovered, a 24-year-old man was arrested in the Hagley area in connection with the matter. He is now in custody at a police station in North Worcestershire.

The address in Lea Street has been cordoned off with a scene guard and police are making house to house enquiries.

Detective Inspector Dave Williams said: “The incident appears to have been confined to the address and at this time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything unusual in Lea Street at around the relevant time last night and we would also appeal to anyone who may have any information at all about this matter to contact us as soon as possible.”
