THREE men were due in court this morning charged with burglary following a break-in at a Worcester pub.

The men, who are all in their 20s, have been charged with burgling Coppertops Pub, Oldbury Road on Wednesday, August 21.

A woman who was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods in connection with the pub burglary has been released on police bail.

Inquiries into two other burglaries at Worcester & Midlands Cold Stores Ltd and DJB Denny vets, which are believed to have happened at around the same time, are still ongoing.

Detective Inspector Stu Murphy from Worcester police station said: “I am pleased to say that we have managed to recover a number of items stolen from the living accommodation of Coppertops, as well as a safe containing an amount of cash. These will all be returned to the owner in due course. “We have also recovered nearly all of the meat which was stolen in the burglary at the cold storage unit, but this will have to be destroyed and of course is a loss for the company. “Both the items from the pub and the meat were located at properties in the Dines Green area. “The meat was found as a direct result of information received from members of the public and we would urge anyone else who knows anything about the two burglaries we are still investigating to get in touch. Your call will be treated in the strictest of confidence.” Anyone with information can contact police on 0300 333 3000 quoting reference 74S 210813or the anonymous charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
