You're not alone: Band's message to victims of bullying
AN uplifting band hopes to help support others by showing they are never alone in their new video.
Answer Back filmed the promotional video for their track, called Never Alone, and now want to use it as their very own anti-bullying campaign, providing help for youngsters who need it.
It was filmed at various locations around Great Malvern as part of guitarist Oliver Grizzell’s film and screen media degree at Hereford College of Arts, and features a young woman being bullied while the three-piece pop-rock band lend her a helping hand.
Mr Grizzell, aged 21, of Lower Wick, near Worcester, said the song evolved into a strong anti-bullying message “almost by accident”, but it was something they were keen to push in order to reassure those having a hard time.
“The bottom line is I would just like to help people,” he said. “If nothing else, I would like our music to try and help people so everybody gets through the day.”
He also said that they hoped to “build upon this theme we have started”, perhaps through other videos and a forthcoming Christmas single.
While bassist Jim Smith, 22, of Bransford, near Worcester, has been targeting national and international anti-bullying campaigns and charities in order to assist a wider audience and “do something positive”.
Drummer Chris Lewin, 20, of Leigh Sinton, near Malvern, said: “We want people from anti-bullying campaigns and charities to get involved and to benefit from us. “We are setting out to help others.”
The trio, who often gig in aid of various charities, all share songwriter duties and combine to create intricate three-part harmonies in all their songs.
Answer Back have shared the stage with the likes of Reel Big Fish, Pendulum and Ed Sheeran, with their next high-energy show booked for the Pheasant, in New Street, Worcester, on Saturday as part of the Worcester Music Festival.
Then they will travel to the Ambassador Snooker Club in Evesham on Saturday, September 14, and the Great Malvern Hotel on Sunday, September 29.
