A WOMAN says she is still waiting for her £3,000 three-piece suite to be delivered – a year after ordering it.

Carole Lorimer says she has had nothing but stress after ordering the furniture from Sofa Specialists in Droitwich last August.

The 58-year-old said the suite, earmarked for her conservatory, was initially delivered to her Northwick home in Worcester but was returned because it was faulty. A second delivery arrived “three to four weeks late” and was again faulty, says to Miss Lorimer, who again asked them to take it away.

“I spent a day at home and when it arrived it was not what I had ordered,” she said. “The recliner broke and then the three-piece suite started to fall apart. It was all fraying and they agreed to change it.”

But she says she was left waiting three to four weeks for the second delivery. “They gave me different excuses. It’s really been an ongoing saga.

“The second suite they delivered was also faulty so I refused to take it.

“There were holes in it, a piece of wood sticking out the back and the seams were wrong, among other things.”

Sofa Specialists boss Oliver Goode confirmed there was initially an issue with the suite’s fabric which was replaced. “That was agreed by all parties,” he said, adding Ms Lorimer later changed part of the order.

“I told her I would give her credit for a recliner she didn’t want. It was then redelivered but there was an issue with the delivery.

“I’ve phoned Carole and asked for her to get an independent report done or to go to the ombudsman. A factory report said it wasn’t incorrect but we are waiting on her to get her own report done. In my opinion I would be quite happy to have the suite in my showroom.”
