A SON who recently lost his father has recorded a charity single in his memory.

Ed Williams, aged 33, of Hipkiss Gardens in Droitwich, penned A few Hours which was recorded by Bank Records and recently released on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.

Half the proceeds of the single will be donated to the Buffs Charity while the rest will be given to support Mr Williams’ family.

The father-of-three recently lost his father, Edward Williams, who died in July after fighting illness for the last 30 years and had recently been diagnosed with myeloma bone cancer.

Mr Williams, a former courier and part-time taxi driver, said his father inspired him to write the lyrics after he first composed the guitar music after learning to play 18 months ago.

“My dad really liked it because he liked that sort of music,” he said. “He passed away not long ago and I thought I would do something with it.

“My dad was the inspiration for the lyrics. The song is about from the day I was born until the day my dad passed away. It’s more for me than anybody else but a lot of people do connect with it.

“I’ve had quite a bit of good feedback from it.”
