WITH no sightings over the weekend and the shutdown of Worcestershire locks for a fortnight, the hunt for Keith the seal has been put on hold.
Despite there being an uproar against the capture of the fish-eating mammal, a license has been granted to have her found and returned to the sea.
But, so far Keith has been able to give Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue (MISAR) the slip as they havent been able to track her down since the search began on Friday in Stourport.
David Walker, from MISAR, said: “The locks are currently shut for the next couple of weeks and the plan is to trap her in one of them, so we can lower something down to lift her out safely.
“It’s always around this time of year when they close for holiday shutdowns and such so we can’t do anything else for two weeks at least.”
