TWO men will return to court next year in connection with the theft of jewellery worth about £11,000.

The charges relate to a burglary which happened between 3pm and 3.25pm on Monday, November 25 in Homestead Avenue, Wall Meadow, Warndon Villages, Worcester.

Mihai Parvan, aged 32, of no fixed abode, and Ionut Calota, 29, of Ida Road, London, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court today charged with entering a home in Homestead Avenue and stealing jewellery to the value of approximately £11,000.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court in March 2014.

Detective Sergeant Emma Whitworth from Worcester Police said: “A member of the public witnessed suspicious behaviour in Homestead Avenue and called the police immediately. We would like to thank him for his quick-thinking and his actions have led directly to the arrests and charges in this case.

“The public can play an important role in helping us to beat burglary and quick action can make a big difference.

“We are still looking for a third man who may have been involved and would ask any members of the public in the Wall Meadow area on Monday afternoon who saw anything suspicious to contact us.”
