A COMPLEX of flats near Tenbury Wells was evacuated as firefighters from seven stations tackled a large fire.
Around 20 people were told to leave the block after the blaze, at Woodston Oast House, Woodston, Lindridge, broke out at 5.44am today and crews were sent from Tenbury, Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster, Leintwardine, Malvern and Worcester.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service described it as "a severe fire in a large domestic property" but confirmed all residents of the 10 flats were well and accounted for.
Station commander Neil Pigott said he expects the crews to remain at the site for some time and the cause of the blaze was still being investigated.
Firefigthers have been working externally with an aerial ladder platform as well as inside the building using breathing apparatus.
