HOMES lost their power when winds brought down a tree onto powerlines in the main road at Kempsey, near Worcester, this morning.
People have been told that their electricity could be down as long as 12 hours, but Western Power Distribution has already restored power to some of the affected properties.
A spokesman for the company said: "The majority of properties have power restored now and we have engineers working towards repairs and getting the power back on at all the properties by tea time tonight."
Police directed traffic around the debris of the tree which lay across the road until it was cleared at around 10.20am.
