Firefighters from Herefordshire and Worcestershire are now on strike over pensions

FIREFIGHTERS from across the two counties have joined a national strike over pensions.

They are joining fire departments nationwide in the strikes that began at 6pm.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire Control are reassuring people that emergency calls will still be answered as normal by calling 999 throughout the duration.

Because it seems the only way to get your own greedy way these days is to strike. Like all other jobs, if the pay isn't what you want, then you're in the wrong job. You don't become a firefighter (or nurse, or police officer, or bus driver!) for the money, you do it because you want to provide the service...
