TRIBUTES have been paid to a “loving and caring” father who was killed when he was hit by a car after a Christmas party.

Stuart Burns, aged 41, of Crossley Walk, Bromsgrove, died on the A448 Bromsgrove Highway after being struck by a white Audi A3, a purple Citroen Picasso and a black Vauxhall Zafira on the Redditch-bound carriageway about a mile out of the town at about 6am on Saturday, December 14.

Mr Burns lived with his partner of 22 years, Ann Marks, and their two daughters, aged 20 and seven.

Miss Marks said: “He was loving and caring, and would do anything for me and the kids.

“We are going to keep things as normal as possible and celebrate Christmas for the sake of our youngest, because that is what Stuart would have wanted.”

Miss Marks added: “We are asking for anyone who saw him that night to come forward so they can help us piece together his last hours. Anyone with any information, please tell the police.

“Our thoughts are with the drivers of the cars. They must be devastated.”

Mr Burns had been on a works Christmas do on the evening of Friday, December 13 when he and a group of colleagues had been for a meal in Worcester before arriving back in Bromsgrove at about 1.30am on Saturday and going to the town’s Love 2 Love nightclub.

However, his family do not know how he came to be walking along the Bromsgrove Highway and they learned of his death after reporting him missing on Saturday morning.

Anyone with information should call the Force Operations Support Team at Rubery Police Station, quoting incident 164-s-141213, on the non-emergency number 101.
