TWO men are appearing in court accused of stealing £600 worth of Christmas presents in a burglary in Stourport.

Joe Glyptis and Ernie Taylor were charged with burgling a caravan outside a property at The Birches in the early hours of Tuesday, December 17, and stealing wrapped Christmas gifts including clothes and toys.

The presents have been recovered by police officers.

Glyptis, of Meadow Caravan Park in Broach Street, Stourport, and Taylor, of Lickhill Road, Stourport, also face charges of stealing a wheelie bin from outside a property in Willowdene, Stourport, on the same night.

The 26 and 27-year-olds were arrested shortly after a member of the public contacted police to say two people had been seen acting suspiciously in that area.

They appeared before Worcester magistrates on Wednesday, December 18, when they were remanded in custody to appear again at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 24.
