A WOMAN from Malvern has died following a Christmas Day car crash near Kidderminster.

The woman, aged 41, who has not been named, was driving a blue Ford Fiesta on the A450 Worcester Road near Barnett Hill garden centre at about 2.40pm, when it was in collision with a silver Ford Focus.

She was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where she was treated for a broken arm and bruising, and then discharged. However, on Friday afternoon, December 27, she collapsed and died at home.

PC Billy Keys of West Mercia Police said: “A road death is a tragedy at any time of year, but it is especially difficult when it happens at Christmas, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who subsequently died.

“Given that this is now an investigation into a fatal collision, we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact the Force Operations Support Unit at Rubery Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 265-s-251213.”

The Ford Focus was being driven by a 26-year-old Bilston man. Two passengers in the car, a man and a woman, were treated for bruising and seatbelt injuries. Both vehicles were badly damaged.
