THE sountbound carriageway of the M42 in Worcestershire is now re-open following two crashes this morning.

A section of the motorway was closed at just before 10am between junction three with the A435 for Portway and Redditch and junction 4A for the M5 while a crash was cleared and the road was treated for ice and frost.

The southbound entry slip road to the motorway was also closed due to an accident at junction two with the A441 for Alvechurch and Redditch.

As a result, the southbound carriageway of the motorway was effectively closed from junction three down to the M5 as junction one is restricted.
