TWO people have been arrested after reports boats at Stourport Marina were being broken into.

Police officers were called to the scene just before 5am on Wednesday (January 15) after the sound of breaking glass was heard coming from the marina.

Four unoccupied boats, which were moored up, were found to have been broken into and two of them damaged, although it is not known yet if anything was stolen.

Suspects were seen running off and a dog handler was sent to the scene to help with a search of the area.

A 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth, both of whom live locally, were arrested in the Wilden Lane area of Stourport around 90 minutes later.

They were subsequently released on police bail with conditions including an 8pm to 7am curfew until March 17.

Police officers are now studying CCTV footage.
