The service on Sunday was taken by the Rev Mark Mesley from Penwerris Church, Falmouth.

Being the week of prayer for Christian unity the first hymn was Lead us Heavenly Father lead us. Prayers were said confessing our sins to God. Lessons were read by Alan Darvill and John Burnes and were taken from Isaiah, chapter 49, v 1-7 and 1 Corinthians, v 1-9. Mr Mesley then read from John chapter 1, Behold the Lamb of God. In his sermon Mr Mesley said as Christians we are servants of God. Jesus laid down His life for us and He showed human nature to us like His mother Mary and divine nature from His heavenly father. To everyone there is only one God, one faith, one Lord. That’s what Christian unity is all about, sharing with one another. We should be a blessing to one another, we are one family and we are all on a common journey together. We have so much to be grateful for.

Prayers were said for the leaders of our churches, people of the world, remembering those in Syria and Africa having to flee from their homes; our own country, our Queen and leaders and local government, for those we work with an our neighbours. For those in sorrow, sickness, those in care and nursing homes, the bereaved that they may know the love of God for them.

The final hymn was Thy hand, O God, has guides. Organist was Markus Mueller. Tea and coffee was shared after the service.

The service on Sunday will be a covenant service led by the Rev Mark Liddicoat at 10.30am.
