THIS marooned floating pontoon in Diglis Lock has been left lying across the path as the water levels from the recent weeks of flooding continue to subside.

Though the river was slightly higher than usual after rising to 3.32 metres on Monday from below 2.55 metres over the weekend, it was nowhere near as high as during the height of the winter floods.

The river Severn at Worcestershire was responding to the effects of the weekend's bad weather and Worcester, Diglis, Kempsey and Saxons Lode remained on flood alert.
