AN orchestra which legendary Worcestershire composer Sir Edward Elgar helped establish will perform a programme of German classics.
The Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra, founded more than 100 years ago, is performing a programme of German classics on Saturday, February 8 at 7.30pm in St. Georges Church in St George’s Square, Barbourne, Worcester.
The programme will open with Wagner’s popular overture from his opera Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg.
Highlights will include internationally-acclaimed soloist Anne Bolt performing Beethoven’s much loved Piano Concerto Number Four, written in 1807.
“This concert features some fabulous works, many of which are personal favourites of mine,” said the orchestra's conductor, Keith Slade.
Tickets are available on the door, priced £10 for adults, £8 concessions.
