A Malvern College pupil has become the youngest in the country to hold a position with Worcestershire Conservative Future.

Robert Porter, aged 15, was elected deputy area chairman and political chairman of the Worcestershire Conservative Future committee.

His role in 2014 will be to set out, organise and carry out a personally devised political strategy for Worcestershire Conservative Future, a group representing the interests of Conservative supporters aged under 30.

Robert said: “I am incredibly excited that I have been given the opportunity to help a cause about which I feel strongly, especially given that, at present, I am the youngest in the country to hold such a position.

"Throughout the year I am planning a variety of initiatives to help people in the local community and will try to boost support for the party.

"I have already established a website and I will be offering the services of Conservative Future to locally run soup kitchens and food banks.

"I strongly believe that I am incredibly fortunate to have been given one of the best starts in life and now I would like to give something back to help the most needy in our society.”
