Worcester News: Makeshift rod used in attempt to break into Rushwick bungalow Makeshift rod used in attempt to break into Rushwick bungalow

BURGLARS tried to break into a house in Rushwick last week using a makeshift rod to try and steal a set of keys left on a table near a door.

The unknown persons entered the unlocked garage next to a detached bungalow some time in the evening on Friday, January 10 and, ignoring valuable items stored there, used materials they found to make the long rod, which they pushed through a cat flap into the utility room at the rear of the house in an attempt to reach keys left on a worktop.

Although they were unsuccessful, police have warned residents to be careful to keep anything which could be used to break into their homes locked away.

Even though we should be able to leave our valuables in our own homes we just can't.
