SYNCHRONISED dance moves were on the shopping list when a food store stepped out in energetic fashion for charity.

About 30 people, including customers and staff, put their best feet forward to the tune of the Cha Cha Slide at the St Peter's Drive branch of Tesco in Worcester for simultaneous Dance for Diabetes event in aid of Diabetes UK.

Every chain of the supermarket got the music playing and disco lights flashing at 2.30pm today (Saturday) to entertain customers as they shopped for their groceries by carrying out the dance moves to the song by DJ Casper.

Joanne Pitt, services manager at the store said: "It was absolutely amazing and it went really well. It's really nice that the customers participated as well.

"So far we have raised £4,673 at this store, so we want to collect whatever we can get to top it up."

The store's manager, Chris Green, who also took part in the dance, added: "Hopefully it should make a big difference to Diabetes UK."

The lively proceedings were led by fitness instructor Irene Sturridge of St Peter's, Worcester.
