Nah they need to look like they are doing something so are going to pick the nice wide open roads with no houses on them to pull in a few fines.

Ironically the very people complaining that live near these areas will be the ones caught taking their kids to school etc... :)

Alas Vox, you are right.

It's so nice to see that tax payers money is being spent so well.

We pay for the services of the police, yet in order for them to gain additional revenue....they fine the people who pay for their lifestyles.

Biting the hand that feeds them in IMO.

Reading a lot about Police crackdowns in WN today, basically it's letting the police officers do what they are supposed to be doing when the bosses think it will look good on the figures! Front line officers are the ones who have to take the flack from residents who have probably made complaints before with no apparent action taken but when senior ranks decide to act then it's all hands to the pumps. If they had the numbers in their ranks to do this everyday there would be no need for any 'crackdowns'.

While it is understandable that some people think they know best when it comes to driving, unfortunately for the ones who get nabbed its the law that is generally right where roads are concerned...
If the cops seem to enjoy busting bad drivers its maybe because they are the boys and girls who attend fatal accidents and then have to tell you that your loved one has been hideously mangled in a car smash. If it wasn't for arrogant fools driving by their own rules the roads would be safer.

So when are they going to crack down on cars with one headlamp?
.
Saw one yesterday delivering papers, try Lyppards around 07:00 and get an easy and worthwhile book.

I rang the 101 earlier but they shouted at me telling me to get off the phone whilst I'm driving. I told them that they were supposed to be clamping down on speeding, not being on a phone whilst driving- that was last months "clamp down".

What's the point in reporting it anyway? If a police officer is alone without a speed detector they won't do anything as it's their word against yours. So if a person who isn't police rings surely this is even more inadequate?!

Great but they could do this about 10pm please which is when the boy racers turn the villages into a race track.
On a roll now!!! - how about stopping all the (not sure what to call them) travellers who are constantly travelling round the estate in vans with no tax or MOT.
Thats probably enough for today

THis is an outrage. The council coming over here telling me how fast to drive- im not going to extend my journey times by 1 minute 42 seconds because the council dont want me to drive down ronkswood hill at 55 MPH. Speed limits, there an absolute waste of ratepayers money.
