THE REGENERATION of Dines Green seems to be in full swing with several plans for Gresham Road set to be executed this year.

Construction of ten new homes, to be located at the end of Gresham Road where the Mayflower pub used to stand, are under construction and set to be completed by Autumn 2014.

The rejuvenation of St Michael's Church has been under construction for several weeks now and is scheduled to be completed by summer 2014- the existing church will be demolished once the new one is erected and there are to be homes built on the site by early 2015.

The demolition of retail units has been carried out with businesses re-located to mobile units, until the new retail block is completed, estimated to be early 2015.

Later this year, scheduled for summer, the demolition of the access flats on Gresham Road will start ,with the new homes due to be finished by early 2015.

Jane Fradgley, Head of Development at Worcester Community Housing, said: "We’re delighted with progress so far on the scheme. It is always difficult delivering transformational projects such as this, but the support we have received from our customers, the City Council, local retailers and the wider community in Dines Green has been overwhelming and our thanks go to all concerned."

The regeneration of the Dines Green area aims to bring 81 new homes for social and affordable rent and shared ownership , five retail units, a church and a youth centre upon its estimated completion in March 2015.
