PLANS to build a new house in the garden of another have been backed at parish council level after no objections were raised.

A planning application for the three-bedroom property has been submitted to Malvern Hills District Council by Mr M D Williams of 2 Highfield, Callow End, and the construction would take place in part of the garden of the existing semi-detached property.

Powick Parish Council raised no objections to the plans on Wednesday and if built it would also come with two car parking space at the side.

The existing property would also be provided with two parking spaces under the proposal and new accesses to the road would have to be formed for both dwellings.

The new house would be built using concrete interlocking tiles to the roof and the facing brick walls will feature soldier courses above and below windows and doors.

In a bid to minimise overlooking there would only be one window to the rear of the new property.

Representations can be made to the district council until Tuesday, March 11.
