CHILDREN went Jurassic at St John's Library when they hosted a dinosaur themed day.

The Dangerous Dinosaurs event took place on Saturday at the library in Bromyard Road and saw more than 50 youngsters turn up for some pre-historic fun and games.

They took part in a dinosaur hunt when the children went in search of parts of the animals bodies hidden in the library, they played with toys, made puzzles and read some books about the now extinct beasts.

Nikki Parry, who lives in Lowerwick, was at the event with her four-and-a-half year old son Kai.

She said: "I saw the advert in the Worcester News at work and I thought I would come along. It's the first one of these events we have been to here. Kai has really enjoyed it and has been doing lots of different activities and some reading, he is dinosaur mad.

"We normally go to the Hive but I am glad I came here today as they have this great sensory room I didn't know was here. It's really good."

The organisers of the event were also delighted with the turn out.

Janet Davidson, library customer advisor, said: "It's been very successful. We have been so busy. The children have all really enjoyed it and of course it's a topic that ties in with what some are doing at school, but it's always a popular theme."

The St John's Library holds events on the second Saturday of every month and on March 8 the Flying High event will see youngsters making their own hot air balloons, planes and bus frames.
